Quick answer: the Jaecoo 7 (1.6T petrol and SHS-P plug-in hybrid) and the Jaecoo 8 run 33 psi (2.3 bar / 230 kPa) front and rear. The J7 SHS-H hybrid runs 36 psi (2.5 bar / 250 kPa). The Jaecoo 5 and E5 run 38 psi (2.6 bar / 260 kPa). All figures are for cold tyres with the car unladen.
These numbers come straight from the specification tables in the UK owner's manuals. Your own car's figures are also on the tyre label on the driver's side door pillar or sill, and that label is the final word if it differs.
Jaecoo tyre pressure table
| Model | Tyre size | Front | Rear |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jaecoo 7 1.6T petrol | 235/50 R19 | 33 psi · 2.3 bar · 230 kPa | 33 psi · 2.3 bar · 230 kPa |
| Jaecoo 7 space-saver spare | T125/80 R17 | 61 psi · 4.2 bar · 420 kPa | |
| Jaecoo 7 SHS-P plug-in hybrid | 235/50 R19 | 33 psi · 2.3 bar · 230 kPa | 33 psi · 2.3 bar · 230 kPa |
| Jaecoo 7 SHS-H self-charging hybrid | 235/50 R19 or 235/45 R20 | 36 psi · 2.5 bar · 250 kPa | 36 psi · 2.5 bar · 250 kPa |
| Jaecoo 8 SHS-P | 235/55 R19 or 245/50 R20 | 33 psi · 2.3 bar · 230 kPa | 33 psi · 2.3 bar · 230 kPa |
| Jaecoo 5 1.6T petrol | 235/55 R18 | 38 psi · 2.6 bar · 260 kPa | 38 psi · 2.6 bar · 260 kPa |
| Jaecoo E5 (J5 EV) | 235/55 R18 | 38 psi · 2.6 bar · 260 kPa | 38 psi · 2.6 bar · 260 kPa |
Note the SHS-H difference. The self-charging J7 SHS-H is set higher (250 kPa) than the plug-in SHS-P and the petrol J7 (230 kPa). If you've moved from one J7 to another, don't assume they match.
How to check your tyre pressures
- Check cold. The figures are for cold tyres. Pressure rises as tyres warm up, and the manuals say not to let air out of a warm tyre to bring it back down.
- Check monthly and before long or high-speed trips. All the manuals recommend at least once a month.
- Use a gauge. Looking at a tyre won't tell you if it's under-inflated.
- Find your label. The cold pressure label is on the driver's side door pillar (B-pillar) or door sill.
Under-inflated tyres wear faster, increase fuel and energy use and can overheat. On an electric E5 or a plug-in J7 they will also cut your electric range.
Tyre pressure warning (TPMS)
Every current Jaecoo has a tyre pressure monitoring system that shows each tyre's pressure on the instrument cluster and lights the TPMS warning when a tyre is low or too hot.
- If the warning comes on, check the pressures with a gauge and inflate to the figure above. The warning clears after a short drive at normal speed.
- On the Jaecoo 8, the manual says the low-pressure warning triggers below 184 kPa (about 27 psi).
- If the pressures are correct and the light stays on, the manual says to have the system checked by a dealer.
See the Jaecoo 7 warning lights guide for the other dashboard symbols.
Wheel bolt torque and tyre rotation
| Item | Value | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Wheel bolt torque, M14 bolts | 180 ± 18 N·m | All models |
| Wheel bolt torque, M12 bolts | 150 ± 12 N·m | Jaecoo 7 petrol and SHS-P (listed in the manual) |
| Tyre rotation | ≈ 12 months / 10,000 miles | Jaecoo 7 petrol manual |
| Tyre rotation | ≈ 10,000 km (6,200 miles) | J7 SHS-P, J5, E5 and J8 manuals (ideally every 5,000–7,000 km) |
Rotation intervals vary with how and where you drive, so treat them as a guide.

Ask the communityFrequently asked questions
What tyre pressure should a Jaecoo 7 have?
The Jaecoo 7 1.6T petrol and J7 SHS-P plug-in hybrid both run 230 kPa (2.3 bar / 33 psi) front and rear, cold and unladen. The J7 SHS-H self-charging hybrid runs 250 kPa (2.5 bar / 36 psi).
What tyre pressure should a Jaecoo 5 or E5 have?
Both the Jaecoo 5 petrol and the electric E5 run 260 kPa (2.6 bar / about 38 psi) front and rear on 235/55 R18 tyres.
What tyre pressure does the Jaecoo 8 use?
The Jaecoo 8 SHS-P runs 230 kPa (2.3 bar / 33 psi) front and rear on both its 19-inch and 20-inch tyres.
Where is the tyre pressure label on a Jaecoo?
On the driver's side door pillar (B-pillar) or door sill. The figure on the label is for cold tyres.
What pressure is the Jaecoo 7 space-saver spare?
The T125/80 R17 space-saver spare on the Jaecoo 7 petrol is set to 420 kPa (4.2 bar / 61 psi).
