Congratulations, hope you receive it well - you won’t regret it ;)
1. Charging: I do most of my charging at home with a 7kW Pod Point charger. It takes around 3-4 hours for a full charge, and it’s way cheaper than using public chargers. I only use public ones when I’m on long trips, and even then, it’s hit or miss—some are great, others are either broken or crazy expensive. If you’re getting a home charger, check if your electricity provider offers any off-peak EV tariffs. I’m on Octopus Go, and it makes charging super cheap overnight.
2. Fuel Efficiency: It really depends on how you drive. If you’re mostly doing short trips and keeping it charged, you barely use any petrol. But if you forget to charge or do loads of motorway miles, the fuel economy isn’t that different from a standard petrol SUV. So yeah, if you charge regularly, it’s a money saver—if not, it’s just another hybrid with a big battery.
