Hi, I took delivery of my J7 on 30/01/26. So far so good!I have a couple of questions.......I do not have a mobile phone.1. I want a dashcam and have watched the video on this forum. It seems easy to install.I have also seen that in some countries a dashcam is installed as standard.It seems the car has all the cameras and sensors needed to drive a dashcam and just needs a recording device so I am not sure why its not installed as standard.I saw this video

shows a dashcam linked to the built-in screen.My questions are does this happen with the Aliexpress camera?Does it happen with the dealer installed camera?If not is the kit for this available elsewhere?2. How do I get Satnav on the car?My old car had the maps built-in and although they were out of date it was OK. Traffic information came through the radio via a Classic FM service. No phone was needed.Should I put a dedicated SIM in the car, if so, any recommendations?Should I buy a phone to give me the maps?I don't really want or need a phone and contract if I can avoid it. This seems an expensive solution but maybe the best?Thanks.Steve

Not sure about the dash cam as I bought a separate Nextbase camera that links to my phone. As for the sat nav. It has navigation built in in the main menu and you can also use CarPlay (well you could if you had a mobile) and get Google/waze/Apple Maps. You don’t need a sim. Think there’s one built in somewhere.

I’ve also noticed this forum isn’t very busy so you might not get many replies which is a shame. Everyone seems to go on Facebook for their questions/queries. But then it’s also full of people on there who don’t have Jaecoo’s slagging them off.

As far as the built in SatNav, it's a subscription based app that you have to pay for. The only benefit I can see over Google Maps, Waze and TomTom that will work on Android Auto or Carplay is the direction turns are shown on the HUD. Your dealer has to request the built-in navigation be switched on after the subs are paid for. HTH

brumlee When do you have to pay for it? Mine is working from new without problem and no mention was made of subscription - I certainly have not paid any extra.

brumlee you shouldn’t have to pay for it, mine is pre-paid/activated until 2029 including all updates within that time.

Mine was paid for when the car was purchased. To find out if you already have the subscription go to you main Home Screen and open "Member Centre", then open "My Services" option at the top of the screen, there it will show you the apps installed on your car and the days left until renewal. There is also the option to order by opening the "Order management" option from that screen. Hope this helps.

rich You're right, but in 2029 you will have to renew the subscription. I presumed the 'FREE' nav app was costed into the price of the car and that's why it had an expiry date.
