Power settings reverting to factory settings on every startup

Hi, does anyone have the same issue when you set the power saving mode to smart and regen to low after the car is started again it reverts back to initial and medium respectively? It is soooo annoying.

That is such a bad design. Just saying it's by design doesn't make it right. 1) Regen this is a safety issue the car shouldn't change behaviour of you stop for a coffee. 2) There is clearly a bug as the warning message for the initial mode comes up every time the battery gets low - even when you select dont remind me again.

This has been mandated by the EU regulations. They force manufacturers to make the car use the battery as a priority. You can tell this was not the intention as in earlier software and in other markets it does not do this, and the descriptions of the items sort of allude to this. The "Initial" mode used to be worded as something like "Emergency" mode and was meant to be used only in cases where you really needed access to that extra bit of battery.If you mod the car you can change this, but it will not be "fixed" by the manufacturer due to the regulations.

There is a way around this now, mine stays on smart all the time. ie. Get in it in the morning and just drive off. I’ll post the instructions on here tomorrow. You do have to have the 06 update installed by the dealer first though.

For everyone wanting their J7 to stay in SMART mode all the time and not have to select every time you start car try the following. For me it stays in smart even after turning off and restarting car.Select New EnergyGo to Power saving modeTap ForcedToggle forced power saving mode onTap SmartPower off car then restart carHope it works for you.

Was told it by someone on a forum. Works a treat, hasn’t moved from smart since I did it 😋
